Hunan Accelerates New Economic Development Area along High-speed Rails
Beijing-Guangzhou and Shanghai-Kunming high-speed rails, connecting China's south and north as well as east and west respectively, intersect in Hunan. The two rails cover 10 cities, 73.9% land, and 87.2% economic outputs of Hunan, and links Hunan with 18 provinces and cities. It takes only two, three, four, and five hours from Hunan to Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Shanghai, and Beijing now. The high-speed rails are bound to reshape the national economics and generate new economic circles.
The Economic Work Conference of the CPC Hunan provincial Committee, which was convened on December 22, 2014, pointed out Hunan need go with the age of high speed. Enhanced development orientation, strategic ideas, and industrial layout of towns, cities, and regions along the high-speed rails were proposed at the conference to develop new zones for Hunan's economic growth.
It was requested at the conference that efforts be made towards breakthroughs to lead the overall situation and unswervingly implement the overall strategy for regional development, so as to advance economic development and realize coordinated development of Hunan's regional economy.
